2019 KPAA Scholarship program now accepting applications

The Kaiser Permanente Asian Association (KPAA) Scholarship program is now accepting applications from Northern California high school students who are scheduled to graduate in spring 2019. KPAA scholarships recognize students who bring demonstrable benefits to the Asian community, and who have the potential to become future leaders. Students may have demonstrated this potential through their school activities, the community, or in the face of unusual circumstances.

Since its inception in 2000, KPAA has awarded 114 scholarships totaling $312,000. In 2019, KPAA is offering seven scholarships of $3,500 each.

Applicants must create an account and apply on the following website. Online applications must be submitted by Feb. 6, 2019. On May 8, 2019, the KPAA website will list the names of those awarded scholarships.

Scholarship funds will be distributed in August 2019 to the college, university, or technical school the winners will attend in the fall.

The Kaiser Permanente Latino Association (KPLA) Scholarship Program is intended to support students who demonstrate academic achievement, commitment to the Latino community, and/or leadership potential. Students that have a desire to address health disparities in the Latino community and/or support the development of Latino health care leaders are encouraged to apply.

KPLA is offering scholarships in three categories. To be eligible to apply, the ZIP code for your school and home must be in a Kaiser Permanente Northern California Service Area.

Category 1: Medical Student

Category 2: Nursing Student

  • Must be working to complete an ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing), a BSN (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing), or an ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing).
  • A GPA of 2.5 or greater is required.

Category 3: Graduating Senior, Undergraduate, Graduate Student

  • A graduating high school senior who will be enrolled as a college student beginning in fall 2018
  • A high school graduate currently enrolled in a community college/trade program
  • An undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a public/private college/university
  • A GPA of 2.8 or greater is required.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: 5th Annual Evidence-Based Practice & Research Conference

NorthBay Healthcare is excited to announce its 5th Annual Evidence-Based Practice and Research Conference.  This year’s theme is “A Bridge to the Future: Innovation and Technology for Healthcare Improvement.”  The event will be held on Friday, August 24th at the NorthBay Healthcare’s Green Valley Administration Center.  The keynote speakers this year is Dr. Chris Furmanski, Partner, Virtual Ventures and former Director of Innovation, Stanford Health Care.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

We are accepting abstracts of completed work.  This is a great opportunity to share the important work that you are doing at your organization.  The 4 categories for abstract submission are:

  • Research Study
  • Evidence-Based Practice Projects
  • Quality Improvement/New Innovations
  • Student Capstone Projects

The Kaiser Permanente African American Professional Association (KPAAPA) Scholarship Program is now accepting applications from high school students who are scheduled to graduate in spring 2018. Scholarships are also available for nursing students and medical students attending schools in Northern California. KPAAPA provides scholarships to students who demonstrate academic achievement, commitment to community service, and leadership potential.

In the last five years alone, KPAAPA has awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships. In 2018, KPAAPA has eight scholarships available.

Online applications must be submitted by April 18, 2018. Winners will be notified in June 2018.

Scholarship funds will be distributed in August 2018. The funds will be made payable to the college, university, trade, or technical school the winners will attend in the fall.
