Inspiring Hearts and Minds
The 7th Kaiser Permanente Caritas Consortium was held at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront on March 20th and 21st. Participants had an opportunity to reflect and renew their professional commitment to human caring. Each day the keynote and KP staff speakers shared inspirational messages on healing and caring self, each other, patients, families, and our communities.
The keynote speakers included Jean Watson, RN, Ph.D., FAAN, American Academy of Nursing Living Legend, and BJ Miller, MD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine, UCSF.
Each day over 400 participants engaged in healing art activities that included a healing lounge with chair massage and hand massage, an art room, pet therapy, HeartMath resilience training, and fun and energizing chakracise. The poster gallery consisted of 22 diverse presentations from 8 medical centers focused on these 3 categories:
- Patient- and family-centered care
- Professional practice
- Caritas education
