The Deloras Jones Scholarship is part of Patient Care Services’ Community Health work, acknowledging academic excellence and promoting diversity among ADN, BSN, master’s and doctoral students. The scholarship was established in 2000 to honor Deloras Jones’ 35+ year career at Kaiser Permanente, starting as a student at the Kaiser Foundation School of Nursing in the 1960’s and retiring as Senior Nurse Executive across Northern and Southern California, spanning both Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and The Permanente Medical Group. The fund recognizes the commitment and contributions she made to nursing education and excellence in nursing practice. Awards are distributed annually in both the Northern and Southern California regions. Since its inception, approximately $5 million has been scholarshipped to over 2,000 nursing students.
This year, 115 Northern CA nursing students were awarded at the ADN through DNP level, and were recognized at a reception held on December 10, 2019. Read here to learn more.
