Since the KP Scholars Academy launched the Professional Certification Program earlier this year we are honored to announce that Anthony Del Monte, RN is our first board certification recipient under the program!
Above and beyond caring for his patients, Anthony is currently active in Redwood City’s HEROES Committee and Nurse Practice Committee (NPC).
When asked about the reasons for and benefits from getting his professional certification Anthony explained that:
“Certification can expand your knowledge base and raises the standard of nurse practice thus, in the end, improves patient outcomes and satisfaction. I have also gained respect of my colleagues. Certification serves as my professional accomplishment, recognition and it validates my experience as a nurse. It will open up opportunities for me, for example: future employment.”
When asked about his future plans now that he has his professional certification, Anthony described that:
“I will continue to maintain my certification and make sure its validity period won’t expire. Certification is a mark of distinction and the process of being nurse board certified can make you a better nurse, and I would like to serve as a role model for my colleagues. Certification can be used for career mobility in our Kaiser RN Clinical Ladder Program.”
Anthony is thankful that Kaiser paid all the certification fees and pursued certification out of his deep commitment to his patients.
